The winter solstice this year

Last year, my brother Sky and I made glutinous rice balls together, I remember laughter, lots and lots of laughter and fun...

Glutinous rice balls or commonly known as tang yuen is endowed with the meaning of reunion, harmony and happiness. During the night of winter solstice, my family members would usually sit together to taste the colourful and appealing tang yuen, we would have a little family chit chat in the garden until midnight.

Today, this particular special day reminds me now that I'm so faraway from home, I do not have a taste of momcooked tang yuen nor a warm family chit chat session under the full moon, however, I am so thankful to be sent here because I know that I'm the luckiest person on earth and there is nothing more I could possibly ask for. I need to be strong now and stop complaining like before because it wasn't easy for my family to send me here, it was definitely a whole lot of hard work and time. All I want to say to my dearly family members today, is thank you. Thank you for sacrificing much of your lives to send me here, to fill me in with more knowledge and skills; coming to UK is indeed an eye opener. I must learn how to endure and cope at times of difficulty, daddy if you can do it, I can do it too. I love you guys. =)

Happy winter solstice!
